About The Artist

Capt. Mark Ballard is a native of Florida born and raised in West Palm Beach. It was there as a young child he grew to love the waters and natural beauty of Florida. It was also at a young age that he love for art and photography bloomed. Mark has spent over 25 years as a designer, photographer, illustrator and fisherman.

He has explored and fished the waters of Key West, Islamorada, the Exumas, Abaco, Walkers Cay, Flamingo, Captiva, Boca Grande, the 10,000 Islands, and both inshore and offshore the Indian River Lagoon in Florida. His experiences have also taken him to Central and South America as well as the trout streams of Colorado, the northeast and the Carolina's.

Capt. Mark maintains a rank of Licensed U.S. Merchant Marine Officer with The United States Coast Guard. He is also one of the founding members of The Indian River Fly Fishing Club, and is an International Game Fish Association Certified Captain.

Mark currently lives in Vero Beach Florida along the Indian River Lagoon with his wife Susan and their two dogs Marley and Roxy.
